Meet the animals of Far Out Farm

The animals that call Far Out Farm home are more than just livestock—they are professional pets. Every single animal here has a name, and most of them have been with us for their entire lives. We know these animals inside and out: we know who their mama is, who their best friend in the pasture is, and even what their favorite color is.

The majority of our residents are retirees from Honey Hill Farm. Some have stepped back from mobile events because they have reached their senior years, while others have joined us simply because they thrive better in a stationary environment rather than on the road. We designed and built this facility specifically to maintain smaller, more intimate herds where every animal can receive this level of focused, individualized attention.

Authentic Lifelong Care

Caring for livestock into their senior years is a rewarding commitment, but it is also real life. Because many of our animals are aging, some may look their age. They aren’t always going to look picture-perfect, and we don’t hide that reality.

To ensure our herds remain safe and their care remains manageable, our animals are rotated and moved throughout the year. During the winter months or under certain weather and health circumstances, animals will be relocated to different areas of the property to keep them comfortable and secure.

The Far Out Farm Experience

We do things a little differently here than you’re likely to find at most traditional animal farms or petting zoos.

A Boutique Experience: By keeping our visitor groups small, we are able to offer highly interactive encounters. Instead of viewing animals from afar, you will often have the opportunity to step right into the pastures with them and maybe even go for a little hike with them.

A Commitment to Authenticity: We do not shy away from the realities of animal husbandry. We share the full picture of animal care with our guests—including the hard labor, the unpredictability, the required continuous education, and the emotional toll that comes with dedicated animal care.

Who You Will Find

Because of our rotation and care schedules, not all animals will be present or visible at all times. However, the residents of Far Out Farm include a diverse mix of:

  • Highland & Zebu cattle

  • Goats & sheep

  • Llamas & alpacas

  • Camels

  • Horses, ponies & donkeys

  • Emus & various other birds

Special Guests: Keep an eye out for our kangaroo and wallaby! While they do not live at Far Out Farm full-time, they may make special appearances from time to time.

More information about the specific animal stars who will live at Far Out Farm is coming soon!
